Spearheaded by David Holmes, in collaboration with film and TV composer Keefus Ciancia (True Detective), and songwriter-vocalist Jade Vincent (The Jade Vincent Experiment), Unloved are born of 60’s girl groups, influenced by the great George ‘Shadow’ Morton, Jack Nitzsche, the soundtracks of Morricone, Nino Rota and the electronic sounds of Raymond Scott. Jade, Keefus and David had the honour of collaborating with one of their favourite musicians Woody Jackson who co-wrote the music on ‘No Friend Of Mine’, ‘Cry Baby Cry’ and ‘Far From Here’ on this debut EP.
David met Keefus and Jade in LA in 2013, that same summer Keefus and Jade started a regular Tuesday night residency in Los Feliz called The Rotary Room. A collective of great musicians, including Woody Jackson (Red Dead Redemption), Gus Seyffert (Beck, The Black Keys), Jay Bellerose (T Bone Burrent) and Deantoni Parks (John Cale), forming informal ensembles curated by Jade, Keefus and David Piltch, with David Holmes invited to DJ between each band.

New York City’s very own MANIK fired onto the scene back in 2011 with releases on Ovum, Poker Flat, Hot Creations and LA based Culprit. The Queens native spends his time producing in the studio, while also being seasoned at the art of crate digging- managing to always find those forgotten records and hidden gems. His diverse sound is somewhere between classic House, groovy Techno, Acid, and a bit of Funk & Disco.
In 2015, his XLR8R exclusive Summer Edit Series, involving Janet Jackson edits/reworks garnered much acclaim by placing #1 and #10 overall on the XLR8R Top 100 Downloads of the year.
As a DJ, MANIK’s international profile has risen just as quickly, having played at Panorama Bar Berlin, Womb Tokyo, Fabric London, Smartbar Chicago, and more than 100 cities worldwide. This New Yorker continues to bring his unique brand of House and Techno, old school and new school, expertly crafted music to the dance-floor.
Having recently relocated from New York to Los Angeles, he’s continued to mature as an artist. The sounds of MANIK can be found in the crates of the worlds leading underground DJs and tastemakers; Ellen Allien, Steve Bug, Josh Wink, Heidi and many more.
